Drug peddlers name the drugs after Anushka and Trisha

The Andhra police have revealed some shocking news that how the drug peddlers and actors are connected. The drug peddlers do not sell the drugs with the name opium or cocaine.

They are naming the drugs after the actresses who are hot in the market. Selling this way these peddlers have minted Crores of rupees.

It seems businessmen are interested with the names that are titillating. Anushka who is hot in Andhra and Tamil Nadu is the name of the drug called Ecstasy.

For drug opium they have named it as Trisha. The police have also informed that they have found out that 8 actors and actresses are involved in this drug affair and in a short time they will be conducting enquiry and submit a report.

Vasundra asks whether she is a controversial actress

In Vattaram she made her debut with the name Adisaya and now she has changed her name as Vasundra which is her real name.

The hand which held the gun for Peranmai is now holding sickle for the film Thenmerku Paruvakatru. While speaking to the media she said,’ I wanted to act in the role of a village girl. I got lot of stories but only the role in Thenmerku Paruvakatru suited me.Director Seenu Ramasami completely transformed me into a Theni girl. This film made me understand that acting is a painful job.

I transformed myself as a pucca village girl. I stood in the hot sun. I picked thistles from the hilly terrains. Whenever there is no shooting, I use to wander in the village where ever my legs took me.

Village people will ask me which family I belong to. You can see a different Vasundra in this film. Many are asking me that why there is sensational news about me always. I also don’t understand this. I am not a controversial actress. I am slightly naughty. That’s all. May be because of this the news are being spread like this.

Now I have changed this habit after acting in Thenmerku Paruvakatru. I think there will be no sensational news about me in future. There is also news that I am in love with a person who studied with me. I have lot of friends but I am not in love with any one. I am a small girl. I have to achieve lot of things in cinema. This love news is also one of the wrong news.”

Ajith in Chandramuki-Part 2

It is well known that Rajini is one of the closest well wishers of Ajith. Even Ajith is very faithful to Rajini and takes his advice for all major decisions of his life. Now we hear that Thala has agreed to do a film on the advice of Super Star.

And the movie is also no less in reputation. Director Vasu had directed a Kannada movie 'Aaptharakshaka' which went on to become the biggest ever hit in Kannada cinema. 'Aaptharakshaka'was a sequel to 'Apthamithra' which was later remade in Tamil as Chandramukhi starring Super Star Rajnikanth.

P. Vasu was planning to remake the sequel film also in Tamil and looking for Rajnikanth to do it as well. Even the super star liked the movie after a special screening and news were abuzz saying Rajini has agreed to do the film. But it was some time ago and the Super Star got busy with Endhiran.

Now after a while the remake buzz is again afloat but with a twist. The news this time is that the Super Star has suggested Ajith to take up the film. Apparently Rajini has told Ajith that the film will fetch him a good name.

Ajith was expected to take up 'Billa-2'after 'Mangatha' but as things stand now he is likely to take up the P. Vasu film. We will keep you posted as and when things develop.

Vijay's Fight Against Drug Peddlers

For sure, actor Vijay has decided to get away from his usual shades of fighting against the baddies for the sake of people. As a matter of fact, his upcoming film ‘Kaavalan’ doesn’t even contain single percentage of those aspects as it is touted to be a poignant romantic comedy. But a particular scene has Vijay taking on the baddies indulged in drug peddling at college campus.

The sequence was recently shot at VIT College in Vellore. According to the story, Asin and her friends feel embarrassed as Vijay keeps following her as bodyguard throughout the campus. She purposely gets him involved with group of students consuming narcotic drugs.

The film’s shooting is 95% completed and is expected to have audio launch during last week of September.

Nagaram Marupakkam:Thalainagarams sequel

The transition from an acclaimed director to an accomplished hero with a good track record was quite fast and smooth for Sundar.C.

The director turned actor who met success as the lead man in ‘Thalainagaram’, ‘Veerappu’, ‘Sandai’ , Ayudham Seivom’ and ‘Aindham Padai is soon to turn to directing again.

As he has already shown that he is equally good in front of the camera, he will be seen as a hero in a new movie ‘Nagaram Marupakkam’ directed by himself and produced by Avni Cinemax (P) Ltd, a banner owned by wife Khushbhu Sundar.

‘Siva Masaula Sakthi’ fame Anuya is playing the female lead role in ‘Nagaram Marupakkam’ which is said to be a sequel to ‘Thalainagaram’ in which Sundar C made his debut into acting as a hero.

Sundar.C while speaking about directing himself for the first time as a hero says, “I chose to direct a movie again because I don’t want the director in me to take a back seat thanks to my desire to stand in front of the camera. The decision to make a sequel to Thalainagaram was because the film was a turning point in my career and the story had the potential for a second part”.

VIJAY’S HIT AND VIKRAM’S MISS THIS DIWALI

Looks like Vijay will make it to the box-office for Diwali celebrations this November. His Kaavalan, remake of the Malayalam flick Bodyguard, is in the final stages of completion and is a sure shot for Diwali release according to production sources. Kaavalan is a comedy directed by Malayalam director Siddique and stars Asin opposite Vijay.

On the other hand, Vikram – Boopathy Pandian’s venture Vedi that was supposed to have been released for Diwali is more or less shelved and will not see the light of the day for Diwali. Point, in fact, is that the title Vedi is referential to the Diwali festival.

Kajal Agarwal is happy because Karthi has said that he likes her eyes and height

Kajal Agarwal is happy because Karthi has said that he likes her eyes and height. Kajal made her debut in the Tamil film Bommalattam. She is number one in Telugu. That is also one of the reasons for her happiness.

You are number one in Telugu. Now you are upcoming heroine in Tamil. How do you see this?

Number one depends on that how a film fairs at the box office. Since my Telugu film Magadheera was a super hit, my career graph rose. That’s all. I am also selecting a role in Tamil that will be spoken about. It is enough if I get a super hit film like that.

Here you will be facing stiff competition with actresses like Trisha, Thamanna and Asin?

Let it be. I will accept only the opportunities that come my way. I will not grab their offers. Moreover Thamanna and Asin are also beautiful.

Bharathiraja has the habit of keeping his heroine’s name beginning with R. Did he not change your name?

I don’t know. He has not asked me anything. I also did not change my name. Bharathiraja is a big legend. Bommalattam is a good experience.

How is Karthi?

Very friendly type. His brother and father are hit artists. In spite of this he keeps on telling that he is proud because he is acting with me. His humbleness will not be there in others. He is very sincere and soft. He keeps on praising me.

What do you think about rumours?

First I want to say one thing. There are no rumours about me so far. I will behave in the right manner with my co actors. I will not chat unnecessarily or send SMS. So there is no chance of rumours.

Is it true that you are acting Vijay in a film produced by Lingusamy?

It is nice to hear. I should have dates. We will see.

Neeyum Naanum - Movie Review

Cast: Sanjeev, Sethna, Sampath, Manobala, Singamuthu
Direction: Solairaja
Music: K Sathya
Director Solairaja, who made many a popular serial on small screen, has tested waters in the tinsel town with a film that speaks about the egos, friendship and camaraderie among children.
Set in the backdrop of a dance competition between students, the movie harps about the innocence of children, their agony and frustration.
Though Solairaja has tried his hand at such an interesting theme, what the movie lacks is the way the director has executed it. It sounds clichéd and predictable at many places.
Sanjeev of ‘Kulir 100 Degree’ plays the lead role while debutant Chetna is cast as his ladylove. The film boasts of star cast that includes Sampath Kumar, Master Rinson, Master Sachin, Singamuthu, Nellai Siva and Manobala among others.
The movie begins in a school campus where Surya (Sanjeev) comes to join as aerobics instructor. The school is owned by Sampath (Sampath Kumar), the chairman of a group of educational institutions, and an influential man in town.

Surya develops affinity with Diya (Chetna), a relative of Sampath who is also a dance teacher there. Meanwhile, a poor boy Karthick (Rinson) manages to get admission in the school thanks to Surya.
An intelligent boy, he incurs the wrath of Siddharth (Sachin), son of chairman of the school who studies in the same class. Karthik's mother falls sick and he needs Rs. Five lakh to do surgery for her. Comes a dance contest carrying cash award of Rs 10 lakh which Karthik wants to do. Siddharth comes in between and poses hurdles.
Eventually with Surya's help Karthik gets admitted to another school. Surya, Karthi and others take it as challenge and prepare themselves for the competition. Meanwhile Diya walks out from the house to be with Surya. It’s finals between Siddharth and Karthik and the best wins.
The movie boasts of enough dance sequences. There are some fun elements in the form of children getting ready for dance contests. Sanjeev looks cool and suave while Chetna is okay. Sampathraj as usual does his job well. All the kids have played well.
Music by Sriram Vijay is good especially the theme music. Premshankar's cinematography is breezy. All said ‘Neeyum Nanum’ is like watching a dance contest on a television channel which impresses you in parts.

Gowtham Menon's 'Sherlock Holmes’ From Apr 2011

First in book, later on screens: the mania of ‘Sherlock Holmes’ has been completely inevitable as it swings persistently over the top of global charts. Needless to mention, the recent release of ‘Sherlock Holmes’ had swept with record-breaking collections across all centres…

The buzzes on air are Gowtham Menon’s ‘Thuppariyum Anand’ will also be based on similar plot of detective-thriller set in backdrops of 1920s. It’s about a smart, intelligent detective and his assistant involved in a mission of trapping serial killers. But the process involves certain magical constraints as well.

If what we heard from the closer sources is believed to be true, British model Amy Jackson, who shot to fame with ‘Madharasapattinam’ maybe signed for the female lead role. Earlier, Gowtham Menon wanted to take off with Ajith Kumar playing the lead role, but has now declined with his interests over working with him.

A.R. Rahman's Common Wealth Song Is Highly Downloaded

Creating records is not a new thing for A R Rahman. He did it once again on Saturday when the theme song composed by him for the Common Wealth Games was released at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi.

If one has to go by reports, within two hours of the song’s release, it was downloaded more than 7,000 times. As Rahman croons ‘Khelo, jeeyo, hey-o, let's go…’, the rousing chorus takes the song forward, thereby giving an emotional appeal.

On Saturday, the Oscar-Grammy winner sung the song for around five minutes in front of a gathering which included Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, her Haryana counterpart Bhupinder Singh Hooda and CWG Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi.

“I feel honoured to get the opportunity to compose the theme song for the mega-event. It was not an easy task. I had started composing it six months ago and finished just last night,” the Mozart of Madras said.

A beaming Kalmadi hailed the launch of the theme song as a good beginning to the hosting of successful Games. “A well beginning is the half job done. Now onwards you will listen this song day in and day out,” he said.

Trisha, Charmi & Kamna under police scanner

Trisha, Charmi & Kamna

The arrest of a couple of youths, at a time when they were allegedly ‘receiving’ the banned drug of cocaine from a Nigerian national in Hyderabad three days ago, has caused widespread anxiety in Kollywood and Tollywood. Before you wonder what effect the arrest of a drug-peddler would have on the film industry folks, have it: the duo was brothers of Telugu hero Ravi Teja!

When the Hyderabad police took the Nigerian national into custody, a casual perusal of the call history on his mobile revealed that he had been regularly spoken to by many leading actors and actress from the Tamil and Telugu film industry. The Telugu press was abuzz with the news that on top of the list of the Nigerian’s contacts was actress Trisha, whose cellphone number was on the Nigerian’s phone.

This could only mean that whoever was on the Nigerian’s call-list were taking the banned cocaine regularly from him. Besides Trisha, the Nigerian’s phone reportedly had numbers of actresses Charmee (of ‘Laadam’ fame) and Kamna Jethmalani (of ‘Machchakkaran’ fame). Both Charmee and Kaamna remained unavailable to the Telugu press throughout yesterday.

Trisha’s statement that ‘she won’t spare anyone spreading false news about her’ and that ‘she would take legal recourse to fight this menace’ reportedly didn’t cut much ice in the media. The Telugu media doesn’t appear to be in a mood to let the matter go out of hands. It has been reported by them that as many as 65 VIPs including the above-said actresses, actors and budding politicians are in the list of persons who had been in touch with the Nigerian.

Wait for a ticking time-bomb to explode in the coming days!

Actor Vijayakumar 50 years in cinema SPL News

Today is a day to reckon for the veteran actor Vijayakumar who not only celebrates his 61st birthday but also completes 50 years in Tamil film industry. It’s an achievement by many standards and Tamilkey wishes the veteran all the very best even in the coming years.
Vijayakumar was born on this day in 1949. Right from his early days his passion was acting. His first role in films was as a child actor in 1961. Vijaykumar was the little Lord Murugan in ‘Sri Valli’ starring Sivaji Ganesan and Padmini. But not many offers were forthcoming for the little actor.

Later to develop himself as a complete actor Vijayakumar started acting in stage plays. He joined the celebrated Sahasranamam’s Seva Stage to learn the fine tricks of acting. Muthuraman was also with the Seva Stage at that time. When Muthuraman became popular in films and left the troupe his roles were offered to Vijayakumar.

Then in 1973 Vijayakumar got his first bi break. After passing stringent tests he was selected to play one of the main roles in ‘Ponnuku Thanga Manasu’ directed by Devaraj-Mohan. The other hero in the film was Sivakumar. The success of ‘Ponnuku Thanga Manasu’ got him a permanent place in Tamil cinema.

Vijayakumar went on to become one of the highly successful stars. It is not an exaggeration if we say Vijayakumar ruled the seventies along with Jaishankar and Muthuraman. Films like Aval Oru Thodarkathai, Mathura Geetham, Azhage Unnai Arathikkiren boosted up his reputation. He even skifully managed to support the icons MGR and Sivaji. ‘Deepam’ with Sivaji and ‘Intrupol Entrum Vazhga’ are two of most memorable films by Vijayakumar.

In the beginning of eighties Vijayakumar wanted to retire from films after staying away from arc lights for some time. But how can one of the most versatile actors be allowed to go just like that? Maniratnam offered Vijayakumar one of his lifetime roles in ‘Agninatchathiram’ and the second innings of Vijayakumar gathered momentum and still going strong.

‘Andhi Mantharai’ directed by Bharathi Raja was one film which took him almost close to winning the national award for best actor. He missed it by one vote. He keeps getting strong characters like that he played in Kizhakku Vasal and Kizhakku Cheemayile even today.

In his 50 years long career there is no role Vijayakumar has not played to excellence. There is no legendary director who has not directed him. Be it a lover boy, adoring brother, devoted husband, menacing villain, funny bean, doting father, imposing village chieftain, upright police officer he has played all to perfection. From MGR, Sivaji to Rajini, Kamal to Rajini, Kamal to Karthik, Prabhu to Vijayakanth, Sarathkumar to the present young actors, Vijayakumar has royally marched along with all of them.

Still, the veteran in all humility says “I don’t think I have achieved anything in life. Acting is life and I know only that”. With a happy family consisting of wives Muthukannu and Manjula, daughters Kavitha, Anitha, Preetha, Sridevi and Vanitha and son Arun Vijay, Vijayakumar is a contented man. His achievements are unique and have a few pages of Tamil film history dedicated to him.

Tamilkey again congratulates him on his completion of 50 eventful years in Tamil cinema and wish him all the best on his birthday.

Sandhya throwing ‘starry’ tantrums?

Sandhya, who tasted success on the earlier stage of her career with ‘Kadhal’ and ‘Dishyum’, found it difficult to continue the winning streak. Her movies like ‘Vallvan’ and ‘Thoondil’, failed to evoke any interest among the audiences.

Now Sandhya has very little offers but that doesn’t deter her from being choosy about her roles. Recently director Yuvan of ‘Sindhanai Sei’ fame approached her to play the lead role in his next film titled ‘Kallattam’. Sandhya shocked him with a list of demands which included that she wanted the entire script in a book form and in a neat file and that no other character in the film should have as much significance as hers in the film. She also reportedly demanded a fee of Rs.15 lakhs.

Yuvan, who was shocked to hear all these things, has dropped the idea of casting Sandhya. Now it is Shammu, who has been signed up as heroine in ‘Kallattam’!

Sneha’s ten habits

Sneha likes designer clothes very much. She wears the dresses designed by her sister Sangeetha for the functions.

Though she has lot of modern dresses, she wears only sarees when she goes to temples.

Sneha does not like loneliness. She is very happy when her brothers and sister family are there with her.

Sister Sangeetha’s son Nithin is the close friend of Sneha. He calls Sneha as mummy.

Once in three months she rearranges and designs her bedroom with the help of the internet.

Whenever she gets time she likes to go around the city and eat street foods.

She is fond of Ilayaraja’s music. Once she is in the car, Ilayaraja’s songs will be there.

She distributes the jackfruits that grow in her farmhouse at Panruti to the houses of her close friends.

Whenever she gets a call from anyone, she will always ask.” How are you? “and then only she will converse with that person.

When she gets into the swimming pool, she will swim for at least an hour. She says that is the reason why her physique is trim.

Vilai Movie Review

Director Kamaraj has tried his hand at serving a strong message in ‘Vilai’, which is about innocent women being exploited and pushed to flesh trade. Thankfully the film maker doesn’t stretch for effort here showing the dark sides, but he has tried to narrate a sequence of events to convey the theme.

The movie has some familiar names like Saravanan, Udhayathara and ‘Nadodigal’ fame Barani. What begins as a docu-drama suddenly changes gears to become a routine clichéd affair. The intention of the director seems to be right, but he falters at its execution. Events unfold at quick pace and at places defy logic, taking away all sheen.

Nandhu (Barani) and his sister Vandhana (Reethu Soni) live at Melur village with their parents. They quarrel with each other. Unable to tolerate it, their father arranges for Vandhana’s wedding. Her brother however wants her to continue studies as she is a topper.

Vandhana comes with Nandhu to Chennai. She gets kidnapped by a call taxi driver and Nandhu begins his search only to come to know that she has been kidnapped by a gang running flesh trade. Now Nandhu takes the help of Assistant Commissioner of Police Shanmugavel (Saravanan), who had a bad past and had his young daughter kidnapped a few years ago.

He along with Nandhu goes on search and succeeds in finding her in the custody of a Mirchi Maya (Fathima), a dreaded woman don who runs prostitution houses in Andhra Pradesh. But there awaits a surprise for Shanmugavel. Also how Vandhana is saved is the rest.

Saravanan reminds one of Vijayakanth. He replicates the ‘Captain’ in his walk and mannerisms. Barani plays a desperate brother, while Reethu Soni as Vandhana is cute. The rest of the cast includes ‘Yogi’ Devaraj, Chandru and Amarasigamani among others.

The content was there to give a riveting film. But Kamaraj seems to have achieved only in parts. On the whole, the movie doesn’t work wonders. However the director deserves pat for taking a relevant issue and discussing it.

Priyamani Interview

Are you angry with Kodambakkam? You are not to be seen in many films.

I should get good role boss then only I can stand in your heart. I am not getting good films. Apart from this I don’t have any anger against Kodambakkam.

Was Raavanan a plus or minus for you?

In one channel they have stated that I was a big plus for that film. That is enough for me. I got lots of appreciations. Wherever I go they speak about my role in Raavanan. As far as I am concerned it is big plus to me.

But even that film also there was a rape scene?

Why are you asking such a question? The foundation of this film itself is that the character is raped. Because of this rape only Vikram kidnaps Prithvi’s wife. I will not refuse to act in a rape scene if the story demands it.

What are the films you are doing in Hindi?

I keep on listening to stories. As far as Hindi is concerned I have to face a stiff competition. It is a different kind of field. The high budgeted mega films are made very easily there. So I had to select a role that would make people speak about.

The role I am doing in Raktha Charithra is such a one. Trisha and Asin have acted in two films respectively. There is no justice in telling that Tamil actresses would be boycotted. Actors should not be trapped in sensitive issues. Artists are common to all languages,

Is it true that you have been removed from Salman Khan film?

I also heard about this news spreading. Sri Lanka problem is a different issue. I am an ordinary actress. My work is acting. I will act if any one calls me. There is no doubt in it. Why are you bringing Sri Lanka problem into this?

There are lots of rumours about you?

Let it be. There cannot be any actress without rumours. I am not worried about these things.

Rahman’s CWG song today

After a few changes in the tune and the lyrics, the much awaited and much delayed anthem of the Commonwealth Games, composed by Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman, is ready for release today.

According to a statement by the Organising Committee of the Games, the music maestro will be performing the whole song at the first hearing on Saturday. Rahman has inserted the word ‘India’ a few more times in the lyrics and made the tempo peppier, sources said.

It may be recalled Rahman had earlier crooned the opening lines of the song at an event in New Delhi, saying that the song still needed some work before he could unveil it. “When you hear the song you feel like India is calling you. I want the crowd to sing along,” he said.

He added: “We have put in a lot of hard work and we are all very excited to turn it into a memorable experience. I am curious to know how older, intelligent people, who have years of wisdom, will react to it. The song is dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of this great nation.”

‘3 Idiots’ Tamil Remake Confirmed

At a time when a lot of buzzes are doing rounds about the Tamil remake of ‘3 Idiots’, director of the Bollywood blockbuster Raju Hirani has confirmed that the film is being remade in south Indian languages

Speaking at the DVD launch of the Aamir Khan starrer in Mumbai, the filmmaker said, “The movie will be soon made in Tamil and Telugu. But I don’t know who will play the lead there.”

“I think they (producers and director of the Tamil version) are currently in the process of casting,” Hirani said and added that he has no plans to make a sequel to ‘3 Idiots’. “I am not with that idea,” he said.

There were reports that a popular production house has acquired the remake rights of ‘3 Idiots’ and Shankar will direct both the Tamil and Telugu versions. “While Vijay will replace Aamir Khan in Tamil, Mahesh Babu will play the role in Telugu,” reports said.

Suriya's Jealousy Over Aarya

The audio launch of ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ saw together coming of various film personalities of Tamil film industry coming together. Actor Suriya remained as the cynosure of all eyes as he walked onto the dais along with Harris Jayaraj to release the music of ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’.

Expressing his words of appreciation for actor Aarya, Suriya jocosely said, “I become like a green-eyed monster when a Aarya’s song is aired on channels. In fact, my family members keep singing his praises right throughout the song. I feel proud of his adeptness to get him delineated in contrastive roles in every film…”

Also present for the occasion were producer K. Srinivasan, Parthiban, TFPC President Rama Narayanan, Na. Muthukumar, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Na. Muthukumar, filmmakers Dharani, Vijay, Vishnuvardhan, Santhanam, Moser Baer Dhananjayan, cameraman Sakthi Saravanan, choreographer Dinesh, producer R.B. Choudary and many others were present.

'Angaadi Theru' Shifts to Andhra Pradesh

Continuous success of Telugu dubbed movies from Kollywood has urged distributors in Andhra Pradesh to try their hand of luck in many projects. Vasantha Balan’s ‘Angaadi Theru’ is next one to join this bandwagon. The film’s Telugu version will hit screens in Andhra Pradesh during second week of September.

The dubbing rights have been acquired by Kodenthara Suresh of SK Pictures and the Telugu dialogues have been penned by filmmaker Veenilakandi’s son Shashank.

As Anjali has a flair command over her mother tongue Telugu, she has dubbed with her own voice.

‘Angaadi Theru’ performed decent at box office and was the only commendable flick produced by Ayngaran International as all its previous films didn’t spin them profits.

After a while, Sasikumar played one of the protagonists in ‘Nadodigal’, directed by Samuthirakani. And now sources have it that Samuthirakani is doing a pivotal role in Sasikumar’s directorial venture ‘Nagaram’.

Kavya Madhavan not perturbed

Actress Kavya Madhavan who had applied for divorce has started acting in films. She while speaking to the media said,” I don’t want to speak about my marriage. The court case is going on.

Apart from this what is the use of speaking about the bitter things. I will not let my spirits dampen thinking about the things that have happened in the past. If you think about one matter, I should say that I am gifted. The first gift is that I am born in this world as a human being. The next gift is that I was born without any deformity.

The becoming an actress and that also a popular actress is also a gift and blessing. How can I feel poignant with God when he has blessed me with so many gifts? I have got nothing against God. Even before my birth of anyone God would have planned that one’s life should be like this or that. Like this after making so many enquiries my parents got me married.

But God has changed my fate. I am not worried because of that. When I had problems, my parents were there to support me. So many people are in worst conditions because there is no one to support them. In that way I am very lucky. Many are asking me to give an advice for the actresses those who are going to get married. I am not such big person to advice. Why this has happened to me is that it is my fate. Nobody can change it is God’s plan.”
