Rajkiran all set to direct films
Actor Rajkiran, who is known for his intense acting, be it in leading or supporting roles, is all set to produce two films. The first of these, with the title not finalized as yet, will have Ragava Larencce in the lead. In fact, Larencce will also double up as the director of this film. It may be recalled that Rajkiran was given an important role when Larencce directed his 'Muni'. This film was being produced by Saran.
Rajkiran will be producing this movie on behalf of his Red Sun Art Creations. Apart from these, Rajkiran has also finalized his film 'Thirumangalathu Yaanai', which will be produced, directed and acted by Rajkiran himself. Apart from this, he is also playing the protagonist in director Samy’s 'Sarithiram'.
Rajkiran will be producing this movie on behalf of his Red Sun Art Creations. Looks like director Bhagiyaraj has taken the advice of historians seriously. Hailed as the one of the best screenwriters ever produced in Kollywood, Bhagiyaraj had earlier titled his son Santhanu’s second flick ‘Pudhiya Varpugal’.
But owing to suggestions from historians, that future generations will get confused if two films were made with the same title, the director is said to have changed the film’s title. The Santhanu starrer will now be known as ‘Sithu’.

The new title has come with a captivating slogan that goes like ‘+2 First Attempt’. The movie has music by Dharan and is slated for release next month. The Launch of the movie Nee Indri Naan Illai was attended by CM Karunanidhi, Actor Kamal Hassan, Actor Siva Kumar, Actor Suriya, Vivek, Manorama and others.Nee Indri Naan Illai movie screenplay will be written by Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Kalaignar Karunanidhi. It is well known that writing is the passion for Kalaigner Karunanidhi, C.M. Tamil Nadu. His numbers of stories were made as pictures in Tamil. Sasi felicitated at Ahmedabad International Film Festival
Director Sasi made a stunning directorial with ‘Poo’ that fetched best laurels amongst the audiences as well critics’ reviews. Produced by Moser Baer, the film featured Srikanth and Parvathi Menon in lead roles. The film had received invitations from various film festivals and indeed won appreciations.
On the first day of Ahmedabad International Film Festival, ‘Poo’ was screened for the category of Best Film and Best Director. On the final day, it was a great honor to witness that Sasi was felicitated with ‘Best Director’. He was awarded a Trophy, a Certificate and a Cash Prize of 1250 dollars yesterday. Since Sasi could not be present at the venue, the recognitions are being sent to him directly by the Directorate of the Ahmedabad Film Festival.

Vivek plans to file suit against the CM
The inaugural function of the film Nee Indri Naan Illai was held at the AVM Studios on Sunday (June 28th). This project, which is the brainchild of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, was well attended by the film fraternity.
Speaking at the event, actor Vivek remarked that the CM is equivalent to a government officer and enjoys all the benefits available to them, however, the CM should not ask for retirement benefits, as he is not eligible for retirement forever. The comedian added that the film fraternity would file a suit against him if he intends to resign.
Kamal Haasan said that while he was on a foreign tour, he wished to purchase a special pen for the CM. But after considering it for a while he decided that Kalaignar did not need pens to write but his intellect matters the most.
Suriya was amazed that the Kalaignar could work for 16 hours even at this age.

The city reflected lot of changes since her last visit here. Waheeda Rehman on her recent visit to Chennai was very much aback to see the rapid development and the changed scenario. The city gave her fine moments during her brief stay. A charity show gave her deserving honour by dedicating a musical night in her name. But Waheeda Rehman returned to her home, sad at heart. She had come in high hopes with a desire to see our superstar Rajinikanth. But all her hopes went in vain owing to ill health of Rajinikanth. The superstar was not keeping well and so all his social appointments were cancelled. It was said that when Waheeda Rehman was on a Japan trip, she found that Rajinikanth enjoy immense popularity than any other Indian actors there. Vairamuthu’s son Gorky in Endhiran
Ooh! Father gifts his beloved son with a fantastic gift dreamt by everyone in Tamil film industry. Things aren’t simple when you’re fixed for a great task in Superstar’s film. Appositely, Vairamuthu introduces his younger son Gorky in Director Shankar’s magnum opus ‘Endhiran’ starring Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Abhishek in lead roles. Earlier, it was Vairamuthu who was supposed to pen all the songs.
But in course of time, the versatile lyricist suggested Shankar and Rajnikanth about his son Gorky and got the green signal. Nothing has been revealed about the song Gorky will be penning for. Kamal walks out of ‘19th Step’
Kamal Haasan, who had recently announced that his project after ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ would be ‘19th Step’ in which he plays a martial arts teacher, has backed out of the project. The film, which will be directed by Bharat Bala, has Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano in the lead. He will be paired with Asin in the film. The film is being produced by Walt Disney and will have music by AR Rahman.

The national award winning actress Meera Jasmine has reportedly ended her relationship with Mandolin U. Rajesh, brother of Mandolin Srinivas.

There is a stir against the film Thambi Vettothi Sundaram. The film is about cross border snuggling. This film is based on a real incident which took place some 10 years ago in Kanyakumari District.
This film is being produced under the banner J S 24 Frames. Karan, Anjali, Saravanan and others are starring in this film. Vadivudaiyan is directing this film. There was an agitation recently to stop the shooting at Tamil Nadu- Kerala border where the shooting was taking place. With regard to this the director said,” When the police are after bootleggers in Kerala, they escape to Tamil Nadu border.
Similarly if the police try to nab the rice smugglers in Tamil Nadu they escape to Kerala. In my child hood I have seen such incidents in my own eyes. The smugglers including the lorry drivers use to live a lavish life. I use to see them as heroes. But ultimately their deeds end in violence. This film is based on these real incidents which can never be erased from my mind. The characters in this film are real and not imaginary. Karan has donned the role of a real character called Sundaram. Anjali is doing the role of Lourde Mary. Saravanan has donned the role of Subbiah. Kadhal Dhandapani and J G are also in the cast. The shooting of the film took place in Kaliakavinai and Puliyur which are the villages situated in Tamil Nadu- Kerala border. There was lot of objections for shooting at these places since the film was based on real incidence. But in spite of this I had completed 50% of the shooting. I am also planning to make the real smugglers to act in this film.”

Parvathi says ‘there is nothing wrong in kissing’
There is nothing wrong in acting in kissing scenes says Poo fame Parvathi. Parvathi had acted in Poo directed by Sasi. Recently she had acted in a Kannada film titled Male Baraali Manju Irraali.
In this film she has acted in a kissing scene with Srinagar Kitty. While speaking about this kissing scene, she said,” There is nothing new about kissing scenes in Indian cinema. There are scenes pertaining to fight, weeping, anger, murder and rape in a film. When we agree for these, I don’t understand why people question about kissing scenes. The kissing scenes are important to story when one acts as lovers or husband and wives. There is nothing wrong in having kissing scenes. Cinema is only the reflection of life. None should come to see the kissing scenes alone. Only if you see the film one can understand the significance of these scenes.”

Director AK Lohithadas Died
One of the leading Malayalam movie director and a prolific screenwriter A K Lohithadas died at Ernakulam Kerala Lissy Hospital at 11 am on Sunday. According to close sources, the movie director Lohitadas was suffered from Cardiac Arrest (heart attack) which results unexpected demise.
Director Lohitadas was there in Kochi to attend AMMA’s General Body Meeting but later due to illness he was admitted to hospital. Director Lohitadas wife and children were in the hospital at the time of death. Soon after hearing the news AMMA meeting was cancelled and all the artists rushed to the hospital.
