10 Directors and 1 Movie

This is the first time where total of ten directors are coming together to shoot one movie. Not for directing movie but to take part in the movie titled Mayandi Kudumbattaar.
Directors Seeman, Nanda Periyasamy ,Tharun Gopi, Jagannath, Ravimariya, Manivannan, G.M. Kumar, Senthamizhan, Singappuli and Azhagam Perumal. Only one thing left is to find heroines and soon as they do that the shooting will begin in October.

This will be one different film.

Vikram will do an item song

Actor Vikram is currently busy with the movie Kanthasamy. The news about this movie is that they are going to add a new item song with Mumaith Khan. This will raise more excitement as if it don’t have enough already. It already features Vikram with Shriya and now Mumaith!!!

Actress Shriya faces a new problem

Actress Shriya who is a busy actress facieses a new problem because she walked out! . Dhanush did not show up for the movie shoot as expected and because that the movie could not commence. Shriya being busy in all three worlds Bollywood, Hollywood and Kollywood she walked out of the movie and because of this all her call sheet went to waste.
Producer Kadiresan filed a complaint at the producer’s council and they in return ordered her to do the film. This would lead Shriya into a call sheet trouble where she has other commitments.

Kushboo celebrates…

Kushboo celebrated her birthday yesterday at home with her family. Later in the evening she threw a birthday bash for her close friends.
It has become a trend in Kollywood to erect sets for films. Some of the films for which sets have been constructed recently are: for Sarithiram an old bungalow has been built in Coimbatore, while T.R. Gardens has become the favorite spot for Dindigul Sarathy and Nandhalala. For Padikathavan a set has been constructed at the Hyderabad Film City.
Following Sun TV, Kalaignar TV has ventured into production. Their debut will be with the remake of Superstar's Murattukaalai with Sundar C in the lead.
Post Dhaam Dhoom, actress Lakshmi Rai is getting offers from other languages too. She is currently working on two projects, Muthirai and Vaamanan. Success has not made her hike her rates, as she wants to do lots of movies.

The President of Rajinikanth Fans’ Association of India, Sathyanarayana was taken by surprise when a few of the Rajini fans staged a protest near his house in Gopalapuram yesterday (29-09-08). The superstar’s fans have been insisting that Rajini should enter politics for long. This sentiment seems to have grown out of proportion with Rajini’s
counterpart Chiranjeevi announcing his party launch just a month ago.
Sathyanarayana promptly intervened and pacified the crowd that he would arrange a meeting with their star in two days time. Speaking about issue, a fan said that the fans are confident that they can convince Rajini to enter politics if a meeting is arranged. However, fans also say that if not a political party, Rajini should at least consider starting a welfare association.

The Ramzan releases in Kerala seem to be bleak with the rift between the Kerala theatre owners and Kerala film producers widening. According to the theatre owners, new releases should not be screened in over 45 theatres across the states, as it is affecting the films already being screened. But the Kerala film producers are against this decision.
The films that are likely to be affected by this rift are Mammootty's Maya Bazaar and Mohanlal's Kurukshetra as the producers had planned to release these films in about 90 theaters in Kerala which is strongly opposed by the theatre owners.
Meanwhile, with the impending Ramzan festival tomorrow, the state's Minister of Culture Mr. Baby and Local Administration Minister Mohammad Kutty are holding discussions with both the parties to bring the issue to an end amicably. It is to be noted that the issues must be resolved today as the state celebrates Ramzan tomorrow.

Doubling up – From Rajini to Vishal to Namitha

After Dasavatharam, multiple roles seem to be hitting an all time high in Kollywood. Well, no one is trying 10 roles as yet, but one wonders whether there has been any time in Kollywood when so many movies with multiple roles have been in the making simultaneously.
First on the list is Silambattam,
which will have Silambarasan in a dual role, confirmed for Deepavali. The other dual role awaiting release is Gautham’s Vaaranam Aayiram where Surya is slated to play dad and son. That is all for movies that have been almost completed, now for the ones that are being made.
The biggest of them all is Superstar’s Endhiran where Rajnikanth will be seen in a dual role after quite a long time, at least a decade. Then it is Vishal who will be doing the first dual role of his career under director Prithvi. Vijayakanth returns to dual roles after Perarasu with director Vikraman’s Mariyadhai; there is Sarath Kumar’s 1977 and Prasanth’s Ponnar Shankar too. Even the heroines are not an exception to the multiple role bug with Namitha doing one in Jaganmohini.
